Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Essence platform operated by GET ESSENCE LTD ("Essence", "we", "us"). By creating an account or subscribing to the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

What the service is

Essence is a geopolitical intelligence platform that uses AI and structured methodology to analyse news sources, verify claims, produce briefings, and monitor global events. The platform provides analytical outputs based on publicly available information.

Essence is a tool for structured reading. It does not replace professional judgment. Outputs are analytical documents, not certified facts. They reflect the sources available at the time of generation. Sources can be incomplete, contradictory, or themselves inaccurate. The confidence scores and source citations are designed to make these limits visible.

You should not rely solely on Essence outputs for decisions with legal, financial, medical, or safety implications without independent verification.

AI-generated content

All analytical outputs produced by Essence are generated with the assistance of AI language models. The source evaluation, verdict determination, and confidence scoring are performed by a deterministic framework — but the analytical text is AI-generated.

In accordance with Article 50 of the EU AI Act, all AI-generated outputs are identified as such within the platform. By using the service, you acknowledge that you are interacting with AI-assisted outputs.

Your account

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials. You must not share your account with others or allow others to access the platform through your account.

One subscription permits one individual user. Institutional or team arrangements require a separate agreement — contact office@get-essence.com.

Subscription and payment

The beta subscription is billed monthly through Stripe. Prices are displayed in your local currency at the time of checkout. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your profile settings within the platform, or through the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access until the period you have paid for expires. No prorated refunds are issued for partial months.

Right of withdrawal

Under UK consumer law, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of your first subscription payment. If you request cancellation within 14 days of your initial purchase, you are entitled to a full refund. To exercise this right, contact office@get-essence.com. This right does not apply to subsequent renewal periods.

Price changes

We may change subscription prices with 30 days' notice. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel before it takes effect.

Usage limits

Your subscription includes a defined number of CHECK queries per month, as stated on the pricing page at the time of purchase. Browsing the RADAR views, reading existing outputs, and managing your Feed do not count against this limit.

We reserve the right to enforce usage limits and to restrict access if your usage is materially excessive or indicative of automated or abusive use.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

1. Use the platform to produce content intended to deceive, manipulate, or mislead others.
2. Attempt to extract, scrape, or systematically download data from the platform beyond what is displayed in normal use.
3. Reverse-engineer the platform's methodology, algorithms, or source registry.
4. Share your account credentials with third parties.
5. Use the platform in violation of applicable law.

Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

Intellectual property

Your content

The queries you submit remain yours. You grant Essence a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your queries for the purpose of delivering the service.

Outputs

The outputs generated by the platform (briefings, analyses, verifications) are provided for your personal or internal professional use. You may share outputs with colleagues or include them in internal documents. You may not republish outputs publicly as your own editorial content without attribution.

Platform

The platform, its design, methodology, source registry, and underlying technology are the intellectual property of GET ESSENCE LTD. Nothing in these terms grants you rights to the platform beyond the licence to use it during your active subscription.

Data and privacy

Your data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Anonymised, aggregated usage data — such as which topics are generating the most queries across the platform — may be used for public-interest research. Individual queries and outputs are private.

Service availability

Essence is in active development. During the beta phase, the platform is continuously improved, which means occasional maintenance windows, temporary feature changes, and periods of reduced availability. We do not guarantee uptime or uninterrupted service. We will endeavour to notify subscribers of planned maintenance in advance.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

1. Essence is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
2. We do not warrant that outputs are accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
3. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the service is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
4. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before they take effect. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you may cancel your subscription before they take effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where consumer protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
